350 vs 450 GSM Hoodies: How to Choose Your Weight
Every hoodie we sell starts with one number: its weight. You'll see it on our product pages as GSM, grams per square meter, and in ounces. It tells you how much fabric is in every square of the garment, and it shapes almost everything you feel when you put it on: the drape, the warmth, how it holds its shape after a hundred washes.
We make two hoodies built for two different jobs. Here's how to pick.
The short answer
- Choose Antarctica Black Label (450 GSM, 13.2 oz) if you want the heaviest, most structured hoodie we make. It's our flagship.
- Choose Alaska Premium 350 (350 GSM, 10.3 oz) if you want premium weight you can wear every day, layer easily and live in.
Neither is the "better" hoodie. They're different weights for different days.
What GSM actually means
GSM measures fabric density. A light t-shirt sits somewhere around 150 to 180 GSM. Most everyday retail hoodies land in the 250 to 300 range. Anything at 350 and above is heavyweight territory, the kind of hoodie that feels substantial the moment you pick it up.
Heavier fabric does three things:
- Structure. It hangs straight and keeps its shape instead of clinging.
- Warmth. More fabric means more insulation on a cold morning.
- Durability. Dense fabric holds up to washing and wearing far longer than thin blends.
Antarctica Black Label: built for those who demand more
At 450 GSM, Antarctica is our heaviest hoodie. You notice it the first time you put it on: it sits on your shoulders with real weight and holds a clean, structured silhouette all day.
Best for: cold-weather days, statement pieces, and anyone who wants the most substantial hoodie they own. It's also our top pick when a hoodie is meant to last for years.
Colors: Black, Red, Sand, Brown, Cream, Navy and Burgundy. Sizes: S to 3XL.
Alaska Premium 350: premium comfort for everyday wear
Alaska is heavyweight without the bulk. At 350 GSM it still feels premium in your hands, but it moves easier, layers under a jacket without fighting you, and works from fall straight through spring.
Best for: daily wear, travel, layering, and teams or groups who want a premium hoodie everyone will actually reach for.
Colors: Black, Red, Sand, Brown and Navy. Sizes: XS to 3XL.

Still deciding? Ask yourself one question
Where will you wear it most? If the answer is "everywhere, all the time," go Alaska. If it's "when I want to feel the difference," go Antarctica. Plenty of our customers end up owning both.
